I have talked with multinational people recently. I am Japanese so I felt lots of things that are unfamiliar to me. They came from the culture, the personality or the way of thinking, whatever.
If you love to travel or to learn other languages, you would have the same experience as this at least once.
We know that each of people has a different way of thinking. That is obvious. In this time, the most important thing is to listen to opponents talking, thinking and feeling. Even if you feel something bad from them, it would not be harassment. it would be a misunderstanding between you and them. So just talk to them. Sometimes you need to apologize.
In my opinion, the Japanese, especially the young, might be like the people who woundn't think about more keeping in touch with somebody after they had even one problem(a tiny problem). I do not know about the people of other nationalities, but the more nationalities are gathering, the more serious the problem could be.
How can we resolve the misunderstandings and keep good relationships?
The answer is to talk to them. Talk and talk, yet argue.
Most people do not want to have an argument and fight against anybody. How about you? Do you want to fight? If the problem is resolved perfectly, we hope it happens, right?
However, we do not talk about the problem so much. For instance, "It's ok. We won't meet forever.", "I just need to stand this situation for weeks." or "He(She) doesn't like me so much." and so on. Please stop thinking so.
We might have some problems due to the differences in cultures or the ways of thinking. Needless to say, there is no body exactly same as you in this world. That happens. What makes the problems better, sorted out are only your attitude and your actions.
You and they could meet in this world. We should be positive. We can be friends. Absolutely. I believe diversity comes from only ourselves, not others.
