In Japan, many high school students tend to leave their hometown when they graduate from school and enrol at University. They usually go back to their hometown in the first several years while vacation but they gradually would not go back there. It means they meet their parents, family and relative infrequently.
Actually, in my case, although I lived in a place where it is roughly 80km(it takes 1.5~2 hours by car) from my hometown when I was a University student, I went back to my hometown once a year. It could be less. That would be because I did not realize how important to meet family regularly
I think it is not only me. Many students might have spent the time as I did.
Since I met my partner who loves her family (I actually do not remember when it was exactly but this sounds good.), I have been thinking about how many times I could meet my family, especially my parents, for the rest of my life.
Imagine that "if your parents will be alive for 30 years more". Even if you go back to your hometown once a year and each stay is for 2 nights and 3 days, the number of times you can meet your parents will be only 60 ~ 90. This is exactly the same as the number of times when you go back to your hometown for 2 months.
When I imagined that, I felt really sad. What have I done for my parents so far? I have just lived only for my life. I never thought about my parents lives in the future, even just called, so I decided to meet them as much as possible and do something for them when I can not go back to home town due to my job.
Since my decision, a few years have passed. I have been doing something. It might be tiny things but I felt I changed my thought and my life.
Changing the subject, recently, some people are getting to work at their homes. This situation seems to enlarge in such as especially IT companies or tech departments and so forth. This will enlarge in the future.
If this movement spread to other districts, the whole country, people do not need to live or stay at places far away from their hometown. They might often go back to their hometown and work there. I am so happy if most people could do that.
I am actually supposed to go back to my hometown for 1~2months from next week. I am happy to meet my parents and relative. I would like to spend the time with them as much as I can.
