ENGLISH LEARNING in April 2021〜Until I pass the Cambridge C1 Advanced and emigrate to NZ〜

April started~.

In Japan, everything starts in April, like a school, the first quarter in business,,, whatever.

So I also refresh and start new thing

1st WEEK IN APRIL

I had two days holiday this week so I could many things.

But I'm leaving the current house on Sunday, tomorrow, so I'm writing this on Saturday.

READING

I read a book 70 pages so I finally finished reading this book whose title is "Essential Poker Math, Expanded Edition: Fundamental No Limit Holdém Mathematics You Need To Know (English)".

I started to read the book from December the last year and this is the second book I read completely in my life, except the textbooks in school life.

This is very interesting for me. I want to playing Poker as a hobby for long.

Also, I started to read "Web API Design: The Missing Link " from Google Could. It's for my job. I've already read it half, exactly by 37 page.

I try to keep on reading English books.

GRAMMAR/VOCABULARY

I spent whole time for reading books so I didn't study grammar and vocabulary in this week.

WRITING

For my English writing skill and my IT skill, I started to post articles on medium. I will post articles regularly.

LISTENING

Especially nothing. I just watched "Black Mirror" series. It is very interesting but I don't understand the content clearly without Japanese subtitle.

SPEAKING/PRONUNCIATION

I want more speaking opportunities~~. I'm wondering whether I take up online conversation for improving English speaking skill more. But for that, I need to give up some thing other, like skilling up IT etc. It's so difficult...

2nd WEEK IN APRIL

There is nothing to write especially in this week.

And what I write is really boring... Poor expression ability.haha

READING

I didn't read a book this week, just read some articles which are relevant to my job.

The habit of reading books is important. I'll find a book for next week. What would be suitable for my level?

GRAMMAR/VOCABULARY

I'm not good at remembering vocabularies for long term. How can I improve the way to remember words...?

WRITING

I posted my second article in Medium. I'd like to keep on posting the articles there.

I also would like to join IT global company in the future so posting articles would be great practice to write English and introduce myself on web.

LISTENING

Although I listen the Podcast every morning while walking, I don't feel my skill has been improved recently. It might be better to change the way of listening to it.

SPEAKING/PRONUNCIATION

It's been 7 months since I started to practice the pronunciation everyday. It's about time to study pronunciation symbols more.

3rd WEEK IN APRIL

It's been almost one year since I started to study English everyday. Looking back to last year, I was so disappointed with my English level which was gotten worse compared to me in 2017.

Anyway, I'm happy to keep on doing it until today and I hope I emigrate to NewZealand in the future.

READING

I bought the book which has much to do with my job, IT. This is the 5th English book I've ever bought and this would be 3rd one I would read completely.haha

I've read it around page 30.

GRAMMAR/VOCABULARY

I noticed that whenever I'm writing English like on this blog, I'm checking how I should use the words I don't know. This could be better way to learn grammar and vocabularies than to focus on studying grammar and vocabularies themselves by a textbook.

WRITING

I've started to post articles on Medium about IT technology, coding server program, since last week. IT topic is interesting for me so I probably can keep writing it for long. This is not only for improving my English writing skill but skilling up my career for the future.

How long can I keep doing it?

LISTENING

I wonder whether I took the time for listening to English especially...? I probably did but I don't remember...

I haven't listen to the radio recently so I'll do it next week. Maybe.

SPEAKING/PRONUNCIATION

Although I'm taking a pronunciation course on Sundays, the trainer who had been in charge of me since the beginning finished working on every Sunday. It means I won't learn anything from this great trainer... We've been together for almost 7 months so I'm REALLY sad ... but I hope I will meet the next great trainer.

By the way, I want somebody speaking with me in private. haha~

4th WEEK IN APRIL

The last week in April. One third in this year passed. It's so fast, isn't it?

READING

I read a book more 37 pages so I've read it by page 67. Good pace.

GRAMMAR/VOCABULARY

I didn't studied it especially~.

These are the tweets I posted on my Twitter this week.

slip = to go somewhere or put sth somewhere quickly, often so that you are not noticed.

trip = to lose your balance or fall because your foot hits against something when you are moving.

rationally = based on clear thought and reason, rather than emotions.

sensible = based on or action on good judgement and practical ideas or understanding.

together with = in addition to, and also

precautions = an action that is done to prevent something unpleasant or dangerous happening.

competent = able to do sth well.

WRITING

I'm proud of myself to keep on doing this.haha

LISTENING

Although I heard English everyday this week, I didn't focus on listening to it so much.

I got accustomed to getting the English sound and voice go in one ear and out the other. haha. It's not good idea for me to have radio or music running in the background.

I had better take time to work on it seriously in a day.

SPEAKING/PRONUNCIATION

I took a pronunciation lesson and today's trainer said that my pronunciation is better than other students.

I don't know whether this is true or just I'm flattered but I'm bit happy and feel I keep trying my best.

Anyway, What I must do is to understand pronunciation symbols!!

IN THE END...

Since I started this record, it has passed 2 months.

I noticed that this ENGLISH LEARNING blog is boring. SUPER BORING. Who wants to read it? Even, I don't.haha

From next week, I don't keep this style any more and try writing my opinions for Japanese situation, current affairs, my emigration plan and information about New Zealand where I would like to live someday.

This is definitely interesting, isn't it?

The following two tabs change content below.
Hi there! I'm Taka. I'm Japanese and living in Japan. I would like to emigrate to New Zealand in 7 years with my foreign partner because I have the experience that Kiwi helped and saved me when I had a serious accident there in 2017. In this blog, I write the process of my life until I emigrate to NZ or more. I work as IT Engineer(Server-side Engineer) and Blogger. Super welcome to contact me, anyone:) Nice to meet you. #Overseas-Emigration #Adress-Hopper
